If the Chief Joe Mathias Centre cancels a booking due to a community death or cultural event, the renter will receive a full refund by cheque.

Decorations
- Decorations must be free-standing or temporarily attached to walls only.
- No items may be affixed to any surface inside or outside the building.
- Candles are permitted in candle holders only.
- Absolutely no confetti inside or outside the building.
- Nothing may be nailed, stapled, taped, or pinned to tables, walls, or flooring.

Food Service
- It is recommended that a licensed catering company provide food service.
- If the rental group uses the kitchen, they must supply their own small appliances, housewares, utensils, soap, dish towels, and cloths.
- An in-house Chef is available, ask for more information.

Security
- Security, ticket sellers, and ushers are the responsibility of the renter.
- Give 48 hours notice if CJMC staff supervision is needed.

Smoking
- Smoking is permitted outside only.
- Minimum 3 metres from the doors (South Entrance).
- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the building at all times.

Liquor Licence
- A Private Special Event permit is required to serve or sell liquor.
- Fees vary per day and location per BC liquor laws.
- Beverages are not permitted outside the building.

Liability Insurance
- Renters must obtain a minimum of $3,000,000 liability insurance.
- The Squamish Nation must be listed as "additional named insured" on the policy.

Tech & A/V Support
- A/V trial run is mandatory 24–48 hours before the event.
- Additional charges apply for on-site tech support during the event.
- Notify us at least two weeks prior if on-site tech support is needed.

Floor Plan & Deliveries
- Event floor plan is due one month prior to the event date.
- External rental deliveries require advance notice: date/time, business name, and item list.
- Notify us at least one month before external delivery.

Booking Process
- Complete and sign the Booking Form in full. Submit in person or by email.
- Provide three date choices (1st, 2nd, and 3rd preference).
- Confirmation within 48 hours by email or telephone.
- Deposit is due the same day as confirmation.
- Balance due one month prior to the event date.

- Cheque, credit, and debit are all accepted forms of payment.

Your booking is not a guarantee with or without payment. The Chief Joe Mathias Centre is the main hub for Squamish Nation cultural ceremonies (prayers, funerals, memorials, and more). If a death arises in the community, we may need to cancel or postpone your event.
You will receive a full refund by cheque in the event of a cancellation by CJMC.
